Fernando, would you mind explaining what the "good news" is?
Thanks.
our family has come to believe that god really wants each individual to personally and independently seek, find and walk with him - quite apart from what other humans say, think, believe or do.. we believe we were created as semi-autonomous beings.
when our inner compass is recalibrated, and we then self-direct, the outcomes seem best.. when we are instead led by humans, their hierarchies, organisations and ideas, the outcomes on the whole seem unfavourable.
legalism (rules), moralism (a moral code), ethnocentrism (doctrine), and gnosticism (knowledge) may seem meritorious.. yet these do not seem to lead to the deep inner transformation needed.

true, or accurate, knowledge of gods word.
see that jesus is with his disciples today.
the true knowledge known, jehovah.
Most other translations say that 'knowledge will increase.' Why do the WT add the word 'true' to the text of Daniel 12:4, is there a genuinely good reason for translating it this way?
as some of you have noticed the asl video warning against masturbation (another guilt trip) is creating waves.
this is not small fry.
1. it is humorous - most topics (like other policies) are serious/depressing (blood, shunning, pedos).
What about the facial expressions on the second guy, is that part of the ASL lanuage? I think that's what made it funny, not so much the wanking gesture.
i reported the other night that we sat down to watch the new video, and while my wife was smiling and laughing while watching the first part, she stiffened and became quiet during part two.
it disturbed her deeply:.
"this is ridiculous.
i was recently in the company of a jw.
this is a long time devout jw and i served them a meal.
i was surprised by their reaction, they simply sat down, grabbed a fork and began shoveling???
They'll even wait for you if you've disapeared to the toilet. I remember hidding for the start of meal time to avoid if possible being asked to say the prayer, I really developed a phobia around saying prayers in front of others, it still affects me to this day.

No. It is still expected. Perhaps they are the diet coke of JW's? I always hated being asked to say prayer at mealtime. The family still expect it of me when I visit them, I obige of course, they have yet to discover that I am mentally disassociated from the twoof.
ok, i think the writing department has well and truly lost the plot now!.
on page 14 of the august 15th watchtower, there is an extensive section on the perils of the internet, with the caption "do you heed bible-based warnings about the internet?
" in large intimidating letters.
Aparently they have been warning us of the danger of such sites "For decades" so that's 20 + years, right?
today, many moviegoers will entertain themselves with a movie called 'the avengers'.
filled with violent content, spiritism, and demonic overtones, it is hardly any surprise that those who are affected by 'the spirit of the world' will be drawn to its themes.

When I was going along I remember the brothers made it a congregational affair to see this particular breed of hollywood movie, f illed with violent content, spiritism, and demonic overtones. There's a book they enjoy that contains much of the same.
Amen.
i honestly cant remember the exact date when i was baptized.
it does not bother me one bit.
i didnt have it stamped in that shitty reasoning book/babel that i got at the time, so i guess the only place i could find it would be my cards, which are far away..
I did it for love. Biggest mistake I ever made.
